Call for project proposals on 'maritime approach'

Future projects of the very last call launched by the MED Programme 2007-2013 will concentrate on a maritime integrated approach inspired by the Commission’s Blue Growth strategy. 114 applications were submitted, whereof 80 were eligible. The evaluation is ongoing and projects will be selected on 9th April 2014 in the Programme Selection Committee.

The ongoing call represents an important bridging element between the two programming periods. By approving these one-year projects the programme aims to identify relevant actions on transnational level as the basis for future projects and related calls. A novum serving as essential experimentation and orientation for the future MED Programme is also the communication and capitalisation approach foreseen and initated: A communication and capitalisation strategy serving internal and external relations will be realized by one centralized project to be approved.

We will keep you updated about these projects laying ground for the future programme!

Since Slovenia is holding the presidency for both programmes in 2014, the training will be carried out in Bled, Slovenia.

MED PROGRAMME 2014-2020

What happened so far?

Since May 2012, the MED Task Force meets regularly to design the 2014-2020 MED Operational Programme subsequently to be approved by the European Commission. Important analyses and consultations have been initiated and finalised leading the Task Force to take some milestone decisions, while some other analyses are about to be carried out.

Ongoing: Public consultation in the frame of SEA

As part of the Programme’ drafting, a Strategic Environmental Assessment has been realized which proposes a report on its potential significant effects on the environment at the scale of the Programme’ area. This assessment approach is regulatory. It enables environmental considerations to be integrated in the preparation and adoption of such operational programmes.

The general public of the countries eligible to the programme area is invited to this survey. Your answers to this consultation will contribute to improve the shape of the future programme and ensure its sound implementation regarding its potential environmental effect. We would appreciate your contribution!

Related documents

The draft environmental report and its non-technical summary, as well as the draft Operational Programme are submitted to the present survey.

Access to the consultation

The survey is open from March 17th until April 30th 2014. You have the possibility to stop the survey at any time and resume it later, following the instructions on the screen.
