CLIMEPORT experience goes beyond Europe

CLIMEPORT project, led by the Valencia port authority has been awarded the environmental medal by International Association of Ports & Harbors (IAPH) in Los Angeles. This award is a new international recognition of the strong commitment of the ports in the environmental sustainability.

 

The project has been awarded the bronze in the category of energy and climate change, along with the port of Antwerp. Also, it have been awarded the port of Hakata, in Japan, who won the gold, the port of Amsterdam, which was the winner in the category of silver.

 

On behalf of the Port Authority of Valencia, we have highlighted that CLIMEPORT has been a reference for new research projects that are currently in development by the Port Authority and it has made it possible,  the creation of a tool for Carbon Footorint calculation, allowing to know the level of the environmental performance of all the port community facilities.

Finally, note that the Port Authority of Valencia leads a new MED project which is called GREENBERTH with the aim of promoting energy efficiency and clean energy in ports as well as the access of SMEs to the energy sector of the port communities.
